Tragedy Strikes as Accidental Explosion at Police Station in Indian-administered Kashmir Takes Nine Deaths
A catastrophic detonation at a police station in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir has resulted in the deaths of nine individuals and injuries to thirty-two others, according to official statements.
The occurrence occurred when a stockpile of impounded blast substances unintentionally detonated during handling procedures.

The blast occurred on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam police station, where explosive materials seized from the Faridabad area in the northern province of Haryana province were being kept briefly.
Area law enforcement head announced that the detonation substances were pending scientific analysis when a "extremely tragic" incident during management resulted in their detonation at approximately 11:20 PM local.
Police Declarations
Police authorities verified that this was an "unintentional explosion" and not a terror incident. "Any other speculation regarding the reason of this incident is unnecessary," highlighted the police chief during a media conference.
The law enforcement facility endured extensive destruction from the explosion, with nearby constructions also being affected by the strong explosion.
Impact and Victims
Multiple vehicles were "consumed by fire and reduced to charred husks, with debris scattered across the area," according to authority statements.
"The intensity of the blast was so powerful that some body parts were recovered from close-by residences, approximately 100-200 meters distant the security post," mentioned an authority informant.
The bulk of the fatalities were law enforcement personnel, along with scientific examination staff, two evidence documentation specialists, and a clothing professional who was accompanying the group.

The area's Lieutenant Governor expressed condolences and announced that an inquiry had been commissioned into the catastrophic occurrence.
"I have directed a probe to establish the reason of the unintentional blast. Extremely pained by the loss of precious lives due to extremely tragic accidental blast at Nowgam law enforcement facility in Srinagar city. My sympathies to the bereaved families. I wish for speedy recovery of the harmed," stated the leader on digital platforms.
