The New Animated Series' Introductory Sequence Selected the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Track

The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series by Critical Role, unveiled a new introductory sequence. It showcases the beloved cast of misfits, misfits, and rogues kicking ass and making their mark, while also hinting at several agonizing personal histories for key figures including Liam O'Brien's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, the character Fjord.

All in all, the opening looks stunning. But I couldn't help feeling that something was missing in the song choice.

This sequence employs "Welcome to Wildemount", a truly stellar composition composed by artist Colm McGuinness. It's a track originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second release put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful sentimental option, and I believe that fans of the second campaign will love its inclusion.

Personally, The series' intro doesn't quite capture the excitement and excitement that accompanied the show's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by singer-songwriter the artist, was an instant classic for me when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it only got better when cast member the performer wrote words to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in 2018.

Featuring vocals from one actress, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the track was catchy and fun. At the time, I hadn't even watched the second campaign at that point, but it was so infectious that I still saved it on my device. It's a song that knows how to get you pumped before you start an installment of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's opening with "the new song" fails to hit the same chords in my opinion. It's an impressive composition, but based on my understanding of the group, I can't help but feel that its mood is a little off.

Of course, the creators has already said that the animated show will have some changes and variations from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its opening seems to be one of them.

This animated adventure will be released on Prime Video from November 19. If you can't wait until then, or want a head start to get to know the characters of the second series, the original episodes are available on Spotify and the video site.
