Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slams this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu will not compete in the last two tournaments this season because of a health issue she has been battling for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to rest and recuperate prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training will involve coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

She was also playing far from freely in the deciding set in the match with Zhu because of the lower back problem that has affected her at times this year.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the international top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.

Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by American player Jessica Pegula in the third round in the Beijing tournament last month.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way before losing in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with planned training sessions late this year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
