Incredible $30 Cartography Humble Bundle Represents a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

Following a short availability earlier this year, the Map Making Mega Bundle is back with an encore that lasts through early December. Hailed as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" developed by ProFantasy Software over the years, the complete package carries a value of over $1,300. And there are three different bundles available here.

Primary Feature

The big draw is definitely a lifetime license to the CC3+ software, a professional-grade cartography program which enables users to generate various types including fantasy overworld maps, smaller regional maps, city maps, and, perhaps most importantly, tactical combat environments.

An imaginative landscape chart created using Campaign Cartographer 3+.

Package Levels

Entry Level

The cheapest bundle tier, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four from the thirty-nine available products: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Monster Token Pack 1, Castle Source Maps, Urban Source Maps. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts with 470 associated map tokens, eight complete urban centers, plus seventy-plus building interiors.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-product collection for at least $15 offers enhanced value through inclusion of a lifetime CC3+ license, the first Annual volume, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. Cartographer's Annual is the yearly bundle from ProFantasy's long-running monthly subscription service featuring a variety CC3+ add-ons like map collections and various other tools. The Isometric Cities enables present urban areas in 3D perspective with isometric views from all sides. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome is a 760-page suitable for novices and experts, packed with guidance and instructions for the map-making process.

Full Package

For a minimum of $30, the comprehensive package includes all the following:

  • Advanced Terrain Generator
  • Dungeon Creation Tool
  • City Designer 3
  • Cosmic Mapping System
  • Viewpoint Enhancement
  • Scene Builder
  • Character Artist 3
  • Symbol Set 2: Fantasy Floorplans

  • Permanent CC3+ Access

Every volume from the Annual series are included here, plus numerous additional tools and content enabling creators to craft complete solar systems, or just go all-in on traditional fantasy world-building: battle maps, dungeons, urban centers, and land masses from almost any perspective. Users can also create character portraits. At thirty versus fifteen dollars, the complete collection offers tremendous value, particularly for mappers with temporary CC3+ access and want to upgrade to lifetime. But it's obviously more advantageous for cartography beginners considering you even get the beginners' tutorials to help you get started. The one caveat here is that while the purchase is available across platforms, the software is only usable with Windows systems.

Philanthropic Aspect

As with other Humble Bundles, part of every purchase goes to benefit a nonprofit. In this instance, the beneficiary is Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 focused on improving the lives of children worldwide via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response. The Bundle Filters option appear near the page top, but you can also select their donation amount in the right-hand section. Additionally available is an "Adjust Donation" drop-down immediately below, enabling adjustment of the distribution percentage goes to Humble, Profantasy, and Save the Children.
