"All my colleagues has been making comments regarding the concluded contest for the last two weeks," commented one sibling.

"We always thought that we would have a meaningful contest still when we got there."

Diminishing Hope

There was plenty of positivity concerning a potential victory of breaking a 15-year drought for a triumph on Australian soil before it began.

Yet now they are facing the prospect of extending their winless run in the country to 19 consecutive Tests when the fourth Test gets under way in the MCG on Christmas Day.

The tourists - and their supporters - will be keen to prevent a clean sweep.

It was mentioned that the "excitement and fun" of head coach the positive style of play in recent times had "reinvigorated" the longest format for followers of the team.

But the Ryding siblings said they had low expectations for the remaining matches - and all they are hoping for from the players is "a show of spirit".

"We'll enjoy celebrating the holidays out there. Additionally, it's our first experience away from home over Christmas."

A schoolteacher, Katie is determined to make the most of the 21,000-mile round-trip as part of her time off.

"Should the cricket disappoint, I've got golf to rely on," she finished.
